Emoji Name (emojiname.online) is a free web tool that spells names using emojis. Type a first or last name, pick one of seven styles, and every letter is replaced by a matching emoji from that style's alphabet.
Publisher: Emoji Name is an independent web project operated at emojiname.online. We launched in 2025 after seeing people manually pick one emoji per letter for Discord and Instagram names β often inconsistently. We built fixed style maps so the same name always produces the same readable chain.
Editorial approach: Every guide on this site is written around how our tool actually behaves β letter mapping, platform character limits, and real paste-test results. We update guides when platforms change display-name rules or when users report rendering issues on specific devices.
How we design style maps: Each style starts with a theme (e.g., Dark = gothic icons). We assign AβZ one emoji at a time, prioritizing recognizable objects for Regular, mood consistency for Dark/Romantic, and cross-platform support (avoiding overly new Unicode symbols in the default style). Suggestions for new mappings go to contact@emojiname.online.
We built it for people who want a playful display name for Discord, a creative Instagram bio line, a TikTok nickname, or a fun message to send friends. The tool runs entirely in your browser β no sign-up, no app install, and no server-side storage of what you type.
Unlike random username generators that mash words together, this converter is predictable: the same name and style always produce the same emoji string. That makes it easy to share, compare styles, and decode with friends who know the pattern.
Common uses include:
- Discord server nicknames and status text
- Instagram and TikTok display names or bios
- WhatsApp and iMessage contact labels
- Gaming tags where the platform allows emojis
- Party invitations, group chat titles, and couple matching names
We publish a Start Here hub plus a Style Guide, platform guides for Discord, Instagram & TikTok, gaming, and WhatsApp, and articles on decoding, choosing a style, and name ideas.
Emoji Name is an independent project. We improve styles and content based on user feedback sent to contact@emojiname.online.
What we collect
We donβt need your real identity to work. The name you type is used only to generate the emoji output on your device. For details, see the Privacy Policy.
